Why I think those who tell you to "get real" when you strive to achieve your dreams are the ones who should get real.

If you have ever dreamed and talked ambitiously about what you want to accomplish in life you may have probably encountered people who would tell you to "get real" or "get serious" telling you that you're living in the clouds and should get back down to earth See more.


It's interesting to look at wikipedia's page on egoism where it lists what the term may specifically refer to. The first is about "egotism" itself and is defined rather negatively as "an excessive or exaggerated sense of self-importance". See more.

We take so much for granted. If we could just flash back to the age where our ancestors were still hunting for survival or building the first blocks of primitive civilizations we would see just how incredibly far have we come. Biologically we are nothing more than just another animal that evolved on this Earth through a complex process of action and reaction. See more.


"When Galileo Galilei in 1613 presented mathematical proof for the Copernican theory that the earth revolved around the sun and not the opposite, it was theological heresy and therefore labeled by the Church as "philosophically false and absurd".
