Doing Something Very Different: Growing Without Schooling

"Though these kids have been homeschooling for a few months, they are still becoming accustomed to the freedom, to the heady realization that education can be about figuring out their own goals, rather than figuring out how to meet demands that don't make sense to them. I had formal education, but -unfortunately- I always disliked going to school, probably because of the schooling system. What I realize now -many years later- that we were taught some non-essential subjects and at the same time missed education about things that really do matter in life.

Quite true. Same here. But we're made to feel guilty for not liking school yet the school system is rarely questioned.
